Thankful for our Blessings & Challenging You to Join Us in Helping the Most Vulnerable

At SVN VERUS, we believe in the power of community and the responsibility we all have to help those in need. For over 15 years, we have proudly supported the Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas (CAC North Texas) and CASA of Denton County, two organizations that are dedicated to protecting and advocating for children who are at risk.

A Longstanding Partnership with Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas

SVN VERUS’s involvement with the Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas began when they were a much smaller organization with a pressing need for office space. They didn’t have the resources to fund the space they needed, so we stepped in. Through this partnership, we came to understand the important work that CAC North Texas does and the profound impact they have on children and families in the region. Sadly the need for resources grows every year and there’s never enough.

Focused Efforts on Children and Families

When it comes to our philanthropic efforts, children and families are at the center of our focus. Whether it’s through sponsoring local student-athletes, partnering with UNT, or supporting causes like CAC North Texas and CASA, we’re committed to improving the lives of children who need help the most.

Greg has always believed that family is one of the most important things in life, and he credits his upbringing for giving him the perspective to see how blessed he truly is. As he got older and met more people from all walks of life, he realized that not everyone had the same supportive family environment. This reflection led him to make a conscious decision to focus SVN VERUS’s giving efforts on organizations that support children, especially those in vulnerable or challenging circumstances. Rather than investing in traditional marketing and advertising, we choose to support local organizations that have a direct and positive impact.

“To Whom Much Is Given, Much Is Expected”

The scripture on our website—”To whom much is given, from him much is expected”—is more than just a guiding principle for SVN VERUS; it’s a constant reminder to be grateful for the blessings we’ve received and to share those blessings with others. “In business, it’s easy to get so focused on the next deal or the next opportunity that you forget what really matters,” Greg explains. “This verse reminds me that we’ve been given so much, and it’s our responsibility to help those who haven’t been as fortunate.”

Our hope is that other businesses, no matter their size, will take this message to heart and find ways to make a difference. “Every business has an opportunity to give back in a small way, or a big way,” he says. “The key is to take action and get involved. Communities thrive when we all pull together to help those in need.”

Please Join Us & Get Involved

Both CASA of Denton County and the Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas play critical roles in supporting children who have experienced abuse and neglect. CASA, which advocates for children in the foster care system, is always in need of volunteers. Debbie Jensen from CASA shared that there are currently over 20 children in Denton County without a dedicated volunteer, and they need people to step up to help.

The Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas also continues to do incredible work, providing services to children who have been victims of abuse or trauma. This holiday season, CAC North Texas is hosting a Holiday Drive, and anyone can contribute by visiting their donation page. In addition, they encourage individuals and businesses to consider becoming monthly donors, which can provide sustained support for children in need. To discuss setting up a challenge or matching donation, you can contact Suzann Woodard, Chief Advancement Officer at CAC North Texas, at swoodard@cacnorthtexas.com.
